Help with everyday needs.
Family Fridays brings individuals and families together with food resources and limited assistance. Some services are offered regularly; others are available periodically or as resources allow.
Hot meals
Hot meals are provided by a food truck twice a month, offering an opportunity to eat and connect with neighbors.
Groceries & fresh produce
Non-perishable pantry items and fresh produce are offered four Fridays a month to help address food insecurity.
Utility assistance
Periodic utility assistance is available as resources allow.
Temporary housing referrals
Limited referrals for temporary housing assistance help residents connect with potential sources of support.
Emotional & behavioral health
Access to behavioral and emotional health assistance is offered when available.
A space to gather
A safe, respectful indoor environment gives individuals and families a place to commune, share experiences, and strengthen relationships.
Community care. Shared moments.
Community voices.
Shared possibilities.
Family Fridays is grounded in the needs of children, families, and seniors in the West End and Visitation Park neighborhoods. Residents’ lived experiences, resilience, and perspectives are essential to shaping meaningful support.
The program’s vision centers on residents as partners: helping identify priorities, strengthen connections, and build a more equitable path toward health and well-being.
Growing into a Family Support & Resource Center.
Family Fridays revealed needs that extend beyond food. St. Paul envisions a neighborhood hub connecting children and families with broader services, resources, and opportunities. These are areas for future development.
Employment & income
Connections that help families address economic stability and access opportunities.
Learning & parenting support
After-school childcare, vocational training, parenting resources, and programming for children and youth.
Care & navigation
Support for health literacy, preventive screenings, navigating care systems, and addressing violence and trauma.
Sustainable food resources
Exploring farmers markets, food cooperatives, and emergency food pantries as community-led responses to food insecurity.
Neighborhood well-being
Responding to housing and safety concerns within the neighborhood and its built environment.
Stronger social support
Reducing isolation, discrimination, and exposure to persistent traumatic stress through stronger community connections.
Rooted in faith.
Committed to our neighbors.
St. Paul AME Church’s history dates to 1841. The church was the birthplace of the St. Louis chapter of the NAACP in 1913 and the church home of Annie Malone and Ethel Hedgeman Lyle.
Family Fridays carries that legacy forward through community care, resident participation, and a shared commitment to social transformation.
There is a place for you here.
